Hamburg, Hammerbrookstraße

Once an unattractive location, but one that was close to the city, young creative people have now discovered this district for themselves. The "Industriehof" is one of the few historic buildings in the quarter that have been reconstructed. Without a doubt, JGB has managed to make the "Industriehof" to one of the best addresses in the district. One after the other, companies from the advertising industry have moved in. The two newly created rooms under the huge saddle roof deserve special notice. Here, where coffee was once stored, seemed to be another world. The Hamburg architects decided to leave the existing construction as untouched as possible. Today, the atmosphere is a mixture of raw industrial architecture and white chic. The rough surfaces of the skeletons of reinforced concrete, the visible cable ducts, the large industrial lighting and the unrefined Heraklith panels mounted under the ceiling emphasise the workshop character of the architecture. In contrast, all constructive elements were painted white. Glass walls, made especially for the "Industriehof", divide the office spaces from each other while leaving the rooms as complete units. The conference room was furnished as a "fireplace room".
